Quality Function Deployment (QFD)
Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a very powerful tool for defining and prioritizing customer wants and expectations, converting them technical requirements, then "deploying" them in the product and process design in a way that maximizes customer benefit at a minimal cost. The methodology can be applied equally to product and service delivery and can provide a structure to product and process development programs that will help ensure a very high level of customer satisfaction from the resulting product or service. An example of one of the tools used in the process is shown below.
